🇹🇼 Family Trip to Taipei
My family and I visited Taipei in August, 2025. I hope other families visiting Taipei will find this helpful. You should get the 5 Day MRT Tourist Pass instead of the EasyCard because the Tourist Pass gives you unlimted rides. Don’t forget about the playgrounds for kids in the airport (see below for locations).
📌 Five Days in Taipei
Day 1 — (Zoo & Dim Sum)
- Taipei Zoo 🐼 (bring passports for discount, look for giant pandas)
- Dim Sum for dinner
Day 2 — (Aquarium & Night Market)
- Xpark Aquarium in Taoyuan
(take the high speed rail, opens at 10 AM, look for capybaras) - Bug Playground & Restaurant
- Shilin Night Market
- Taipei Amusement Park (Shilin)
Day 3 — (Da’an & Syntrend)
Morning in Da’an:
- Insect/Reptile Museum
- Papabubble Candy Shop
- Mr. Tree Restaurant (bubble tea + playground)
- Kidsburgh Playground
- Da’an Forest Park (like Central Park in NYC, with playground)
Evening in Syntrend (near Taipei Main Station):
- Syntrend Mall (tech, gaming, toys, gadgets — check Floor 6 & 7)
- Don Don Donki (Japanese candy!)
Day 4 — (Museum & Xinyi)
- National Taiwan Museum + Land Bank Exhibition Hall (for dinosaurs)
Xinyi District:
- Nintendo Flagship Store (Xinyi Place, A11/A9 buildings)
- Big Lego Store (FEDS Xinyi A13, 3rd floor)
- FunBox Toys (A8 building, 5th floor, near Taipei 101)
Evening in Yulon City Mall / Yes!Life Mall:
- Food court for dinner?
- Wooderful Life
- Eslite Bookstore (largest branch, has kid’s craft classes)
- See a movie at Vieshow Cinema?
Day 5 — (Children’s Science Musuem & Underground Mall)
- National Taiwan Science Education Center (next to amusement park)
- Taipei Underground Mall (City Mall Y section)
